Are you licensed or bonded?
Many states, require auctioneers, to include fundraising auctioneers to be licensed and/or bonded. A short list of those states are Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi, Indiana, Illinois, and more. You know what they say, "Don't Mess With Texas" (feel free to insert your state)!

Do you hold any certifications ?
The auction industry has many segments.  Auctioneers earn certifications, making them experts, by attending courses offered by their state or the National Auctioneers Association. As a fundraiser you want a Benefit  Auctioneer Specialist (BAS) certified auctioneer.  BAS' raise on average 50% more funds on average than non-BAS auctioneers.
